Every year, we receive around six hundred manuscripts and publish six. People often ask what we look for. The honest answer is: a voice we want to hear again tomorrow.

## What we read first

The first page, then a page from the middle. If both sound like the same person, and that person is someone we want to spend a few hundred pages with, we read the rest.

## How long it takes

We answer every submission within three months. If we say no, we try to say why.
